What a day. What a month. What a year!
The Convergence
For the last few months I, like many people, have been inspired by Andrej Karpathy's LLM wiki.
It meshed very nicely with my earlier work on exposing a traceable lineage of knowledge that links back to what I call the "Paired Core" of Human and AI.
It rode on a LibrAIry that used a format that organized this knowledge and linked the knowledge together so that the Paired Core reasoned from a single source of truth.
Google just dropped their Open Knowledge Format and it is literally what I've been building for the last month.
Complex Emotions
My first thought: "WOOOHOO!"
My second thought: "DAMMIT! Swooped... AGAIN!"
Third thought: "So what now?...Hang on..."
My mind caught up with the emotion and growing excitement helped me do an analysis (with AI help, of course! - Thanks Claude!).
"Provenance!" I thought. That's what I have that hasn't been done yet. I should post something and now might be able to actually contribute in the field that has been my passion for the last year.
Searched through the issues and... everyone else looked for the same gap and several smart folks had some great things to say on that very subject.
Swooped. Again. AGAIN.

Fortuitous Preparations
Publish or Perish is something I am not fond of because it brings out the worst in people sometimes.
Publish or Perish also brings out the best in people and I'm not going to sit around grieving the field.
AI is moving so fast the gap between "Eureka!" and "Standard" is now measured in days.
I'm going to ship.
An old mentor of mine paraphrased something "Luck is preparation meets opportunity."
MosAIc is a reconfigurable surface for directing an LLM. It uses panels (tessarae) that reshape to the task instead of a linear chat transcript scrolling off like a Star Wars opening crawl.
It's early. It's rough. But I've published an actual tool and I just so happened to put it up the same morning I got swooped and now am adapting it to surface OKF (ok, a little chest thumping "Look what I did!" here. Can you blame me?).
Not throwing spears here. The convergence is a real gift: a standardized substrate to build upon for a crowd worth contributing to, and MosAIc is one surface of a larger governed system I've been building. More of it goes public soon™.
The lesson is sharper than the sting: It's not safe to bet on owning the obvious. Build the deep foundation and ship real artifacts. It's the only place where the swoop can't reach.
